When I was growing up, I was taught that through Christ all people are equal and loved, good luck is on the other side of hard work, and to be kind to others especially to those who themselves are not so kind. These values were instilled into me by my parents. Today I watch as my mom, Sue Piazza, runs her campaign for Gresham City Council Position 5, and nothing has changed. I have watched as she has addressed nasty individuals who have been slanderously led to believe she has hate in her heart, and have been impressed with her calm demeanor in responding. After all, why should she be shaken when she knows what was falsely created in her name was not in fact her? She has worked tirelessly to meet new people in our community in order to gain their perspective and a better understanding of our city.
Mom chooses to serve the City of Gresham in this capacity because she believes in fostering all of the talent Gresham has to offer in an equitable way. Please join me in voting Sue Piazza for Gresham City Council Position 5.

A big “well done” on the Estacada Miracle article. How unusual to see a “newspaper” print an item that readers actually want to read.
Articles about Grandmas’ favorite recipe, or little Johnnies’ accomplishments in school are swell, but they do little to educate or inform the community and do not encourage a person to pick up the paper in the first place.
Now that we are all aware of the significant risk wildfire presents to our communities, perhaps you’d care to educate your readers a bit on the subject. Give us the useful news we need and want and less of the fluff available on the likes of Facebook.
I for one would love to read more about how our local fire departments did (or did not) assist our communities during the September fires.
Again, “atta-boy” on the Estacada Miracle. Bring us more of the good stuff….less of the other.
I am passionate about America, a nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all are created equal. An exceptional idea that a people living under God could create a government of the people, by the people, and for the people which would allow the people to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. An honored tradition to ensure the longevity of this beacon of hope that every citizen pledge the allegiance to “the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, with liberty, and justice for all.”
I am concerned about America, a people, who have largely forgotten these foundations upon which this Great Nation was built and blessed.
We do not remember and respect those foundations in our decision-making. This lack of faithfulness results in national self-destruction. Our form of government was designed for a moral people who choose to live under divine precepts that promote liberty and justice. When a people choose not to follow those life giving, freedom making ideas, chaos, lawlessness, oppression, and dictatorship follow. We have seen these signs which were exposed by the current government lockdown, permissive riots of destruction in the lawless big cities, fake news, selective news that fits a power elite’s narrative, and censorship of speech via political correctness in Big Tech and Big Media, closure of churches called nonessential, the murder of the preborn and sale of aborted baby parts, the greed, dishonesty, immorality and hypocrisy of Big government and Big Business, the corrupted legal system, the modern day slavery of human and sexual trafficking, and the attacks upon our Bill of Rights and freedom via over reach by government mandates and over-regulation. Our government and our society are a reflection of we the people. How are we looking in the mirror? We are in the balance and are found lacking. The wrongs and the harms cry out for justice. Let us gather, repent of our wrong doing, seek divine mercy and grace and return to the faith of our Founding Fathers to renew, revive, and restore the Truth that brings real freedom.
This is a time to prayerfully consider the preciousness of your vote in helping to determine the political policy direction of our country for potentially generations to come – your children and grandchildren. “It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.”
My recommendation is that you vote for policies that promote liberty as proposed and intended by our nation’s founding fathers. Do not vote for policies that will enslave you. Donald Trump is not my savior. Jesus is my Savior. Donald Trump gets my vote because of his policies not because of his character.
